Join the Mission: Help Us Engage Citizen Scientists
Are you community leader in an aurora group? A media or tourism contact? An influencer or blogger?
The SolarMaX project is groundbreaking in many ways. For the first time, humans are orbiting the poles in space, and we’re taking a pioneering approach by coordinating astronaut photography with ground-based photos from the public on a global scale. This we will attempt to arrange in advance so that people are prepared. Unlike previous citizen scientist auroral research, which often relies on post-event public photos, we are proactively engaging the public to create a unique dataset that will advance our understanding of the aurora.
We aim to inspire and educate people while involving them in a meaningful scientific endeavor. Our goal is to collaborate with citizen scientists to enhance auroral research and potentially uncover new discoveries.
However, we need your help to spread the word and find enthusiastic participants.
In addition to providing the resources below to help you communicate to your audiences, we’re happy to arrange interviews with key project members to discuss this exciting opportunity and how people can get involved. Let’s work together to make this mission a success!
